This year, the GIS has decided to experiment with a new format to bring our community to life. This is why, in addition to the usual annual events, a series of webinars will be held throughout 2024 to give the floor to researchers from the community or from neighbouring fields on topics related to the challenges of thermoelectricity.
Dr. Paz VAQUEIRO from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom will be the first guest speaker in this series of webinars, and will give a lecture by videoconference on Thursday 18 April 2024 at 2pm entitled: Copper-containing sulphides as thermoelectric materials with low lattice thermal conductivities. The 2023 National Thermoelectricity Days, organized by David Bérardan (ICMMO), Nathalie Vast (LSI), Philippe Lecoeur and Jérôme Saint-Martin (C2N), took place on the Paris-Saclay campus from November 22 to 24. A big thank you to the entire organizing team for organizing and hosting these days!

October 2023

The 5th edition of the school on Thermoelectricity was organized from October 08 to 13 in La Bresse in the Vosges and has gathered 31 participants.

September 2023

The 19th European Thermoelectricity Conference (ECT 2023) took place from September 17 to 21 in Prague. It brought together around 260 people. Many members of the GIS-TE community participated, which you can find in the group photo below. Congratulations to Rana Ghannam from the Charles Gerhardt Institute in Montpellier (ICGM) who received a prize for her poster!

The website for JNTE2023, which will take place on the Paris Saclay campus, is available at the following address: https://jnte2023.sciencesconf.org/. There you will find all the practical information, the registration form (free but obligatory) and the link to submit an abstract. The two half-days of training will be devoted to thin layers and numerical simulations. This year, the scientific presentations will be given in English (with possible exceptions for doctoral students who are not comfortable doing so), so there will be no language barrier for the participation of doctoral students or post-doctoral students. non-French speakers at the “symposium” part of the JNTE.

May 2023

The JNTE2023 will take place from November 22 to 24 on the Saclay campus and will be organized by the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies (C2N), the Institute of Molecular Chemistry and Materials of Orsay (ICMMO) and the Laboratory of Irradiated Solids ( LSI). Two half-days will be dedicated to thematic training (Wednesday, November 22 afternoon and Thursday, November 23 morning) and two half-days to the conference (Thursday, November 23 afternoon and Friday, November 24 morning). Registration for training sessions and/or the scientific conference will be free but compulsory. A website with all the practical details and dates for submitting abstracts and registrations will be put online very soon.

The 5th edition of the Thermoelectricity thematic school will take place this year from October 8 to 13 in La Bresse in the Vosges. All useful information and how to register are available on the school website https://ecolete2023.scienccesconf.org/. The registration deadline is July 15.

April 2023

The deadline for submitting an abstract to ECT 2023 in Prague has been extended to April 30. You can find the main information relating to this conference on the conference website.

The 2nd international workshop on thermoelectric materials (IWT 2023; https://iwt2023.sciencesconf.org) took place from April 12 to 14 at the Abbaye aux Dames in Caen. It brought together around sixty French and Japanese doctoral students, post-doctoral students and researchers. Many members of the GIS-TE community participated and you can find them in the group photo below.
